As a Technical Application Manager Single Use Solutions, you are responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities for the Biopharma Production Business Unit. You are viewed by both the company and customers as a technical expert of Single Use-based products and services used in the clinical & commercial manufacture of biologics (e.g. Up-stream manufacture, Down-stream manufacture and Fill & Finish).


You are the single point of contact who makes things happen and drive the business forward in Switzerland

Your responsibilities

  • Raise regional awareness by promoting the Avantor value proposition as a manufacturer and supplier of Single Use products in supporting the manufacturing processes of various biologic-related product classes.
  • Support the Biopharma Account Management team with technical capabilities presentation, and a consultative sales approach to engage more technically experienced end users.
  • Work closely with technical end users to develop customer tailored Single Use products and services.
  • Build and sustain long lasting business relationships with customers in order to ensure brand loyalty.
  • Partner with sales management team in driving growth of the Single Use portfolio and implementing sales strategies to achieve sales growth in the EU region.
  • Champion internal alignment with Sales/Account Management and Product Management to ensure key customer opportunities are being managed and executed in an efficient manner.
  • Identify and lead the development or refinement of new custom manufacturing opportunities.
  • Managing a pipeline of opportunities and contracted business.
  • Visit with and facilitate senior level presentations to end customers.
  • Use of CRM system for consistent reporting and information exchange.
  • Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. A graduate degree MSc or PhD is a plus.
  • 6-8 years of experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing or supplying technical Single Use-based products and services to the biopharma industry.
  • Minimum 3 years in a bioprocess engineering or similar role in a biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets.
  • Good knowledge of office applications (mainly PowerPoint, Excel , and Word)
  • Full Driver’s License.
  • Flexible in fast-changing environment and to work well under pressure.
  • Self-motivated team player and able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable navigating within a matrix to ensure projects are established, maintained and executed in an efficient manner
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written English. Fluency in French and/or German is a plus.
  • Strong demonstration of collaboration across all functions and levels within an organization.
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Able and willing to travel approximately 50% of the time.
