Sinnissippi Centers is looking for an Accounting/Payroll Specialist. This position is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations for four specialty corporations funded by federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grants. This position works closely with members of the business office, residential managers, and other members of the leadership team to support the organization's financial objectives.

This position is also responsible for payroll processing for Sinnissippi's 300+ employees.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording transactions, verifying and reconciling entries, and ensuring the integrity of financial data.
• Accurately process payroll via the payroll system and ensure timely and accurate distribution of paychecks or direct deposits.
• Process accounts payable transactions, including vendor payments.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all accounts are in balance and accurately reflect the financial status of the company.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of cash balances and identify discrepancies.
• Monitor and categorize expenses, ensuring adherence to company policies.
• Collaborate in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts by providing historical financial data and analysis.
• Assist in analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights to management for decision-making.
• Assist in preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations. Issue year-end vendor 1099s. Calculate and withhold taxes, as well as other deductions, according to federal, state, and local regulations. Prepare and submit payroll tax reports, including W-2s and 1099s, to relevant government agencies.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Stay informed about changes in financial regulations and accounting standards to ensure the company's compliance. Stay current with labor laws, tax codes, and regulations to ensure compliance in payroll processing. Generate and analyze payroll reports for management and accounting purposes.

Salary: $43,781 - $45,970
