Qatar Airways is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Business Intelligence (CBI) Manager to be based in Doha, Qatar.
As a Commercial Business Intelligence (CBI) Manager, you will be responsible for providing the analytical intelligence that enables Qatar Airways' Distribution & Commercial Efficiency function to make faster, better‑informed, and more commercially disciplined decisions. You will measure, analyze, and evaluate performance across distribution channels, commercial processes, sales programmes, payments and cost of sale; translating complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive efficiency, profitability, and value creation.
Responsibilities- Lead the analysis of distribution channel performance across channels (including GDS, NDC, aggregators, and direct connect); identify gaps, cost‑to‑serve inefficiencies, and channel mix optimisation opportunities, and translate findings into clear recommendations for VP and Senior Managers.
- Track and evaluate performance across points of sale, commercial segments, markets, and customer groups against commercial efficiency targets by providing structured, forward‑looking insights that support distribution steering decisions and commercial programme design.
- Monitor distribution costs versus value delivered by producing regular cost of sale analysis by channel, market, and partner; recommend actions to optimise the channel mix, reduce distribution inefficiencies, and improve net revenue contribution.
- Analyse the commercial impact of commercial structures, incentive programmes, and distribution agreements by providing data‑driven assessments that enable the function to evaluate ROI of commercial investment and make better allocation decisions.
- Drive analysis in support of commercial strategy, distribution initiatives, and efficiency programmes; evaluate new commercial models, partnership structures, tools, or distribution approaches from a value and efficiency perspective; measure the impact of implemented actions with documented outcomes.
- Oversee the production of all routine distribution, payments, and commercial efficiency performance reports, dashboards, and scorecards for leadership and commercial teams – ensuring all outputs are clear, actionable, and decision‑ready and that a disciplined reporting cadence aligned to commercial operating rhythms is maintained.
- Validate the accuracy, consistency, and relevance of all operational commercial data prior to circulation by maintaining data quality standards and ensuring that all analytical outputs are built on a reliable, single version of commercial performance truth across the function.
- Track and control distribution efficiency metrics including channel mix, cost of sale, cost of deal, sales productivity, and value contribution; operationally assess the impact of distribution changes, commercial initiatives, payment or sales actions once implemented, and flag inefficiencies, leakage, or weak ROI areas requiring corrective action.
- Set up and maintain operational tracking frameworks for major commercial efficiency, payments and distribution initiatives by monitoring delivery against agreed targets, timelines, and benefits, reporting progress, risks, and realised outcomes to stakeholders in a structured manner.
- Ensure CBI operational support is available during peak periods, commercial launches, negotiations, network disruptions, and ad‑hoc leadership requests by providing rapid, reliable insights during time‑sensitive commercial decisions and supporting business continuity requirements.
