College Profile:

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) houses ten departments, covering a wide range of undergraduate specializations in the Arts and Sciences including English Literature & Linguistics and Arabic Languages, History, Sociology, Social Work, International Affairs, Mass Communication , Psychology , Policy, Planning & Development , Statistics, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences. The College also houses Master Programs which are in Environmental Sciences, Gulf Studies, and Arabic Language. In Fall 2013, CAS launched a new master program in Material Sciences and a PhD in Biological and Environmental Sciences. Additionally, the College offers a Program of Arabic for Non- Native Speakers.

It is worth mentioning that as members of QU, CAS faculty members have excellent opportunities to secure intramural and extramural funding for their research ideas. Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) is major source of research funding, with individual project funding limit exceeding 1 million/project (5 million exceptional projects) along with student research funding programs. As the national and largest University in the country, Qatar University is the recipient of most of QNRF awards, with many research- active faculty members able to win multiple grants.

Duties & Responsibilities1.Coordinate special and varied off-site and on campus events consistent with the strategic focus and image of the University.2.Overlook on-site execution of events with other University Departments to ensure that activities run smoothly and follow appropriate protocol.3.Support events to develop, plan and implement the program of special events for Qatar University including, but not limited to, dinners and conferences.4.Conceptualize and recommend scheduling of events as appropriate.5.Plan and coordinate details of center events by selecting site, menu, seating arrangements and itinerary based on event objective or theme.6.Coordinate logistical matters with other institutions in the case of joint events.7.Maintain confidentiality of information at all times.8.Perform other tasks and duties that may be occasionally required in order to meet the requirements of the role and the aims of the University.

Qualifications

1.Bachelor Degree in Event Management, Marketing, Hospitality, Public Relations, Media, or another relevant field. 2.Experience in planning and implementing special events is preferred.3.Experience in electronic and communication platform.4.Proficient in Microsoft Office suites, Adobe creative suite.5.Must be organized and have multi-tasking and communication skills.6.Bilingual (English/ Arabic)7.3 years+ work experience.
