You will be tasked with developing, implementing, and delivering the instructional program to meet students' needs in Special Education. You will help prepare students to enter the workforce. Under the Management's direction, you will be directly responsible for designing a comprehensive vocational assessment plan for each student. You will provide evaluation designs for situational vocational assessments within the center and community environments, and coordinate educational and supportive services necessary to implement each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and provide an appropriate transition program into the workforce.

As part of the vocational program at Mind Institute Educational center, you will be responsible for developing specialized and tailored programs in many areas such as gardening, computer literacy, horticulture, hospitality, and construction. Provide training to enhance vocational skills by answering questions, providing examples, emotional support, and general guidance. You will demonstrate vocational functions, tasks, and activities, including procedures, tools, and equipment. You will develop work areas, work stations, and source materials for students to use as part of the vocational program. You will develop appropriate pre-vocational job training strategies. You will compile information to record progress and write reports related to assessments. You will network and collaborate to offer community-based positions to support pre-vocational projects and life skills development.

The position requires independent Knowledge in the special education and vocational fields, well-developed communication skills, the ability to relate to students with special needs and their families, and work well with co-workers. You will be expected to lead the development, organization, and Management of the Vocational and Transition Program. The position requires adding to the development of the service and embracing continuous quality improvement. As part of an educational and clinical institution, you will assist the Management in its' overall mission; ensuring high-quality services to all clients, working as part of a multidisciplinary team, and empowering students and their families.

Role Competencies

Determine eligible students through collaborating with other team members.
Assist students in the development of pre-vocational skills
Develop and implement pre-vocational programs and activities to meet the needs and interests of the students.
Establish a variety of vocational bridges, tasks, and events for students.
Teach and execute vocational procedures, techniques, tools, and equipment
Initiate and maintain relationships with local businesses, schools, skill training centers, etc.
Provide innovation in service delivery with the development of workshops responsive to the expressed needs of our students.
Understand and connect to students with special needs.
Independently manage a highly specialist and complex caseload of adolescents and young adults with developmental disabilities. This includes providing comprehensive assessments using a range of specialist assessments/techniques.
Work in line with the center's student-centered approach to intervention, emphasizing collaborative goal setting with students, parents, and careers.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Design, oversee, and deliver vocational and transitioning programs, evaluating the effectiveness of the program and modifying as necessary.
Ensure systems are in place for regular reporting and feedback.
Offer advice and support to parents of students through phone, email, and meeting contact.
Prioritize and plan own workload to manage conflicting and competing priorities.
Reflect on practice with peers and supervisors.
Work with others to improve the effectiveness of service delivery.
Train other professionals in program delivery.
Act as a source of expertise and advice for both students and families.
Be involved in the planning and implementation of parent advice services.
Advise the line manager on service delivery issues, including shortfalls and pressures on service delivery within the center.
Share program outcomes with all relevant stakeholders, including The Director, to ensure a shared understanding of clients' needs.

Administrative Duties

Complete administrative tasks, such as compiling reports and notes based on sessions and maintaining records and case notes.
Ensure all aspects of the sessions, including parent discussions, are documented for liability purposes.
Maintain records and prepare reports. Ensuring records reflect professional reasoning and the best possible practice.
Ensure reports are printed, signed, and properly filed.
Observe health and safety regulations.
Prepare and submit progress reports for all students you have seen for three months in case of termination or resignation.

Premises and Facilities

Contribute to planning the development of the department.
Maintain up to date inventory of resources.
Maintain all equipment, ensuring it remains in excellent working order by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Document, follow-up, and inform Management on all safety issues.
Comply with all procedures, rules, and regulations and always keep a clean and neat environment.
Position Requirements
Masters, 1 to 2 Years work experience
Proficient Knowledge of general practices, procedures, and techniques involved with providing vocational training.
Knowledge of principles, methods, tools, equipment of assigned vocational trades.
Student guidance experience and rules relating to students with special educational needs.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
Master's Degree in a health, education, or related field.
Two-years' experience working as a vocational teacher and trainer for children and individuals with special needs.
Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and or other related developmental disabilities.
