Sales Manager – Commercial Solar

Location:

Yorkshire Region. Salary:
Up to £75,000 Basic Salary + Company Car/Car Allowance + Uncapped Bonus. Six-Figure OTE.

We are a rapidly expanding solar installation business with ambitious growth plans across the commercial sector, and we are now looking for an experienced and driven Sales Manager to help lead that growth across Yorkshire.

This is a hands‑on role for a high‑performing business developer who can personally win new commercial solar projects while also building and leading a successful business development team as the company continues to scale.

The Role

Initially, you will play a key role in generating and securing new commercial solar opportunities across Yorkshire and surrounding regions. As the division grows, you will take responsibility for recruiting, developing and managing a dedicated BD team.

You will be targeting a wide range of commercial clients including:

  • Industrial and manufacturing businesses
  • Warehousing and logistics operators
  • Commercial property owners
  • Agricultural businesses
  • Multi‑site operators
  • Developers and commercial contractors

Key responsibilities include:

  • Winning new commercial solar installation business
  • Building and managing a strong sales pipeline
  • Developing relationships with key decision‑makers
  • Carrying out client meetings, presentations, and proposal discussions
  • Creating and implementing commercial growth strategies
  • Recruiting, mentoring, and leading a business development team
  • Working closely with estimating, design, and operational teams
  • Driving revenue growth and expanding market presence across Yorkshire
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with:

  • A proven track record in B2B sales and business development
  • Experience with in commercial solar, renewables, construction, energy, M&E, or related sectors
  • Strong leadership potential with the ability to build and manage a team
  • A hunter mentality with a hands‑on approach to winning business
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Commercial awareness and strategic thinking
  • Full UK driving licence
