Are you a commercially driven sales professional with a strong engineering background and a passion for building long-term client relationships within the bespoke engineering and capex world? We are recruiting for an experienced Key Account Manager to join a growing and ambitious engineering business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a consultative B2B sales environment and enjoys managing key customer relationships while driving new business growth.
The RoleAs a Key Account Manager, you will take ownership of an established territory, managing key accounts and developing repeat business opportunities across the engineering sector. You will play a key role in driving profitability, increasing market share and supporting the wider commercial objectives of the business. This is a consultative, relationship-led sales role requiring strong technical understanding, commercial awareness and the ability to identify customer needs and deliver tailored solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets within your territory
- Manage and develop existing key accounts to maximise repeat business opportunities
- Identify and secure new business opportunities through proactive sales activity
- Follow up and convert marketing-generated leads
- Plan and manage customer site visits effectively
- Prepare and submit technical quotations and sales documentation
- Work closely with customers and internal technical teams to deliver solutions
- Maintain accurate records and pipeline activity through the CRM system
- Provide regular sales forecasts, KPI reporting and activity updates
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends
- Support the Sales Director and wider business where required
We are looking for a motivated and professional sales individual who can combine technical understanding with strong relationship management skills.
- A proven track record in engineering or technical sales
- Experience with in a consultative B2B sales environment
- Strong account management and customer relationship skills
- A technical mindset with an interest in mechanical products
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- The ability to manage priorities and work towards targets
