About the role
We are seeking to appoint a technician to support the Design and Technology Department. Grade 5. £13.26 per hour. Annual salary £22,303 with possible increments to £22,961. Term time only, 39 weeks.
The successful applicant will work under the supervision of the head of department, and work primarily within resistant materials. Duties and responsibilities will be varied, and will include maintenance of workrooms and equipment, ordering and preparing materials for lessons, and supporting students with their learning and project work. A key responsibility will be maintaining Health and Safety records within the department.

- Enthusiastic and committed to the learning needs of all young people
- Organised, with excellent attention to detail
- Experience in safe use of power tools, and a good understanding of health and safety practices
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students and external contractors
- Carpentry or engineering experience would be an advantage, as would ICT skills

The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and includes appropriate paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements. The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert and will be paid in equal monthly installments, with adjustments if leaving part way through the school year.
This role is UK based and your Right to Work will need to be established as part of the appointment process.
