Salary: £39,152 – £41,771 per annum (rising by annual increments to £41,771)

Full Time – 37 hours per week

Location:

Service Headquarters, Salisbury or Dorchester Support Offices, Poundbury. Will attend centre up to 5 days a month. Flexible working options available.

In the Learning and Organisational Development department, the Officer will manage the implementation of the service Apprenticeship programme, supervise external training providers and contracts, and support learners and managers to ensure successful apprenticeship completion.

• Manage the implementation of the service Apprenticeship programme ensuring the levy is used effectively to provide development opportunities for staff in accordance with government apprenticeship standards and requirements.
• Manage external training providers and supplier contracts, ensuring due diligence and cost‑effectiveness, and ensuring that all apprenticeships and further education adhere to best practices, are evaluated, and yield a maximum return on investment.
• Supervise a range of learners and adapt approach to provide additional support for both learners and managers of apprentices to enhance the learning experience and successful apprenticeship completion.

• Qualified to relevant level 4, or able to demonstrate significant level of experience at a senior level in a relevant sector.
• Experience of design and/or delivery of development programmes.
• Experience of financial reporting and monitoring.

• Must be able to fulfil travel requirements of the role, including attending meetings and training events at various locations across the service area.
• Standard Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) clearance will be undertaken on the successful individual prior to offer of employment.
• Offer subject to pre‑employment checks including identity, right to work, medical, references, employment history, and explanation of any gaps in employment within the last 3 years.
