Overview
This is security and communications work in the performance of various functions applicable to the operations of a municipal jail and communications facility.
Compensation- Jurisdiction:
Town of Mt Vernon - Starting hourly pay: $12.37
- Starting yearly salary: $25,728
Graduation from a standard senior high school, or the successful completion of the General Educational Development (GED) test, preferably including or supplemented by coursework in typing, bookkeeping or record keeping and preferably some experience working under stressful or dangerous conditions; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.

Eligibility and RequirementsEligibles selected for appointment must meet the established medical and physical standards for the class of work. The medical examination must be by one of the physicians designated by the Personnel Board. Appointees must bear the cost of the examination.
