Are you a high‑achieving Maths graduate looking to gain valuable school‑based experience before pursuing a career in teaching, educational psychology or SEN support?

An Outstanding Secondary School in Tower Hamlets is searching for a dedicated Maths Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive team in a full‑time role starting September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate with a strong academic background in Mathematics who is passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve academic success.

As a Maths Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students across KS3, KS4 and KS5, providing targeted academic interventions and in‑class support in Maths. You will support students with a range of additional learning needs, including ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism (ASD) and Speech & Language difficulties, helping to build their confidence, engagement and progress within lessons.

This role would particularly suit an aspiring Maths Teacher, Educational Psychologist or SEN professional looking to gain hands‑on classroom experience within a high‑achieving and inclusive secondary school.

Job Description
  • Providing 1:1 and small group Maths interventions
  • Supporting students across KS3, KS4 & KS5
  • Assisting students with SEN including ADHD, ASD, Dyslexia & Speech and Language needs
  • Supporting academic progress, confidence and classroom engagement
  • Working closely with the Maths Department and SENCO
  • Full‑time / Term‑Time Only
  • September 2026 Start
  • Located in Tower Hamlets
Person Specification
  • Must hold a 1st Class or 2:1 degree in Maths or a related subject from a reputable university
  • Previous experience working with young people is desirable
  • Passionate about education and supporting student progress
  • Strong academic background, particularly within Mathematics
  • Calm, patient and adaptable personality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Aspiring Maths Teacher, Educational Psychologist or SEN professional
