Summary Statement
The selected candidate is responsible for conducting waste audits and assessing compliance with existing Universal Recycling and Plastic Carry-out Bag Ban laws. The position will provide recommendations to maximize recycling and improve waste collection efficiency, develop marketing and educational materials, and provide outreach related to recycling.
Essential Functions- Conducts field studies or inspections and evaluations for compliance with permit and regulatory requirements; observes, collects, analyzes, reviews and interprets data from standard field studies, compliance inspections, regulatory submissions, or literature and makes recommendations.
- Performs statistical analysis of data.
- Conducts technical reviews and makes recommendations on permit applications or other regulatory submissions to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Prepares permits, technical reports, and/or enforcement case documents.
- Responds to technical/regulatory inquiries from state, local, federal agencies, and public/private organizations or individuals.
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Life, Physical, or Applied Science or a related field.
- Two years' experience in analyzing and evaluating scientific data.
- Two years' experience in interpreting environmental laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Two years' experience in technical report writing.
