FTE Building Registered NURSE

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the building administrator and certified school nurses, the registered nurse ensures that direct nursing services inclusive of medical procedures, first aid and triage support is available to students and staff to support general safety, health and wellness. All duties must be performed in accordance with district and state board of education policies as well as state law regarding nursing practice.

• Provide direct nursing care to students with and without complex medical needs including but not limited to medication administration, g-tube feedings, physical assists and diabetic care
• Support student medical needs across educational environments as needed (bussing, field trips, etc.)
• Provide basic first aid and care to ill and injured students/staff in accordance with district policies and procedures
• Maintain day to day health operations in an organized manner, including accurate documentation of nursing services and procedures
• Review and update health records for compliance with state and district health requirements
• Assist with vision, hearing, dental, and other screening as deemed necessary
• Consult with and refer specific health problems to the certified school nurse

• ILLINOIS REGISTERED NURSE LICENSE TO PRACTICE IN THE STATE OF ILLINOIS
• COMPETENT IN THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY
• Current CPR-AED Certification, Preferred
• ILLINOIS VISION AND HEARING TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION, PREFERRED

• HOURS:
  
  K-6, Monday 8:00am-2:15pm;
  Tues-Fri 8:00am-3:15pm
• Professional Learning and Collaboration hours as dictated by contract
• WAGES: $36.28/hr
• CONTRACT/BENEFITS:
  All Registered Nurses are employed under the Downers Grove Educational Support Personnel (DGESP) contract and Addendum to DGESP contract April 2024. Compensation and Benefits can be viewed in the addendum.
