Position Overview
The Service Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting, managing, and scheduling in-house and field service activities on a wide variety of custom machinery. This position requires both technical expertise and strong organizational skills.
This is an in-office position with travel. Candidates must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and possess a clean driving record.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and manage service tickets, including scheduling, resource allocation, and customer communication
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for electrically controlled hydraulic machinery
- Perform hands-on testing and troubleshooting of systems including:
- Variable frequency drives
- Motor protection panels
- Electrical control systems
- Collaborate closely with the Calibration Department
- Assist calibration technicians with testing and troubleshooting activities
- Support production team as needed
- Manage service contracts and direct support services
- Assist with training initiatives
- Perform additional duties as business needs require
- Engineering degree or equivalent Electrical Engineering experience preferred
- Minimum of 5 years related experience as a Service Engineer or similar role
- PLC programming experience is a plus
- Strong familiarity with hydraulic and electrical control systems
- Experience with panel testing and validation
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to lift 50 lbs without assistance
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
