Compliance Officer - Mauritius

We are a global, international CFD brokerage with a dynamic and fast-paced compliance function based in Dubai. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Officer to take ownership of our Mauritius (FSC) regulatory framework and support our broader offshore compliance initiatives.

In this role, you will act as the key liaison with the Mauritius Financial Services Commission and our local management company, ensuring our operations remain at the highest standard of regulatory adherence. You will join a collaborative global team, working alongside legal, product, and sales departments to foster a robust compliance culture across the organization.

• Regulatory Liaison & Management: Serve as the primary point of contact with the Mauritius FSC. Collaborate closely with the appointed management company (MLRO/Deputy MLRO) to ensure timely submission of reports and effective responses to regulatory inquiries.
• Policy & Procedure Development: Design, implement, and maintain compliance policies tailored to the Mauritius FSC license and other offshore jurisdictions, ensuring they remain current with evolving regulations.
• Compliance Monitoring: Conduct regular compliance audits and reviews to monitor adherence to both local and group-wide policies. Identify gaps and implement effective corrective actions.
• AML/KYC Oversight: Supervise the implementation of robust AML and KYC processes. Perform ongoing client due diligence reviews to ensure compliance across global jurisdictions.
• Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver engaging training programs to internal teams, enhancing firm-wide awareness of compliance obligations and promoting a strong compliance culture.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Centralized Compliance Function in Dubai to align Mauritius practices with the firm’s global strategy. Provide insights that contribute to the enhancement of worldwide compliance frameworks.
• Risk Management: Maintain and update the compliance risk register, identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks specific to the Mauritius entity and other offshore locations.

• Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree. Professional certifications (ICA, CAMS, CRCM) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in financial services compliance, ideally within the CFD brokerage or Fintech industry

• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Mauritius FSC regulatory framework is essential. Experience with other offshore jurisdictions is a significant advantage.
• Skills:
• Proven ability to identify compliance risks and implement effective mitigation measures.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (must be able to articulate complex issues clearly to regulators and stakeholders).
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively within a global team.
• Experience in developing and delivering compliance training to non-compliance staff.

• Knowledge of the French language is a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to various jurisdictions as required.
