Our client in Dubai is seeking an experienced and technically skilled Inventory Planner & Logistics Coordinator to establish, manage, and continuously improve inventory and logistics operations within our manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong engineering background and proven experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, or industrial environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing inventory systems, implementing warehouse organization structures, managing stock planning, coordinating logistics activities, and driving lean process improvements to support uninterrupted production operations.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement an effective Inventory Management System (IMS), develop and maintain structured SKU and part-coding systems, establish warehouse zoning, racking, and bin-location strategies, implement inventory control methods such as Kanban, Min-Max, and Reorder Point systems, and introduce and maintain Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices.
- Define safety stock, reorder points, and Economic Order Quantities (EOQ); monitor inventory levels and proactively manage shortages and excess stock; maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, WIP, consumables, and finished goods; conduct cycle counts and physical inventory audits; analyze inventory performance and prepare management reports.
- Generate purchase requisitions based on inventory requirements, track and expedite purchase orders, monitor supplier lead times and delivery performance, maintain supplier and material specification records.
- Coordinate receiving, inspection, storage, and issuance of materials; ensure accurate Goods Receipt Note (GRN) processing; manage outbound shipments and transportation scheduling; prepare delivery documentation including packing lists and delivery notes; ensure compliance with safety and warehouse operating procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency and inventory accuracy; train warehouse personnel on inventory procedures and system usage; support production and procurement teams with accurate inventory information; drive measurable lean improvement initiatives.
- Education:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Structural Engineering or related discipline; certification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory Management or Operations Management is an advantage. - Experience:
35 years of experience in Inventory Planning, Logistics Coordination, Materials Control or Warehouse Operations; experience within Manufacturing, Metal Fabrication, Steel Processing or Industrial Production environments; proven experience implementing inventory systems and process improvements. - Technical
Skills:
ERP, WMS, Inventory Management Software experience;
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills – Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Dashboards, Inventory Analysis; strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kanban, and Inventory Optimization; warehouse layout planning and storage optimization knowledge; ability to read engineering drawings and material specifications. - Key
