Responsibilities
- Perform surface preparation, masking, priming, sanding, and spray painting on all types of fleet vehicles, taxis, limos, VIP cars, buses, etc.
- Mix and match paint colours accurately according to manufacturer specifications or fleet colour standards.
- Apply primers, base coats, and topcoats using spray guns in a controlled booth environment.
- Ensure proper drying and curing of painted surfaces using infrared or baking systems.
- Perform minor touch-ups and blending work to achieve seamless finishes.
- Inspect painted surfaces for imperfections and carry out polishing or rectification work as needed.
- Ensure proper masking of non-painted areas to avoid overspray.
- Maintain and clean spray booths, guns, and painting equipment regularly.
- Ensure proper use of PPE.
- Coordinate with denters, polishers, and estimators to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of repaired vehicles.
- Timely coordinate with the Store Unit and Procurement Section for equipment and raw material required for vehicle maintenance.
- Identify and report any hazards and incidents in nearness.
- Enforce compliance with all safety protocols, quality standards, and DTC's internal policies, fostering a safe and organized workshop environment.
- Ensure adherence with quality, health, safety, and environmental standards and promote a culture of technical excellence.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive painting, preferably in a commercial fleet, dealership, or accident repair center with proficiency in color matching, spray gun techniques, and using different paint types (solvent-based, water-based, clear coats, etc.).
- Experience with both panel painting and full body resprays is a plus.
- Familiar with working in a booth environment and using modern painting tools.
- Able to work in the workshop-based condition with exposure to chemicals, fumes, paint dust, and high noise levels.
- Work involves wearing appropriate PPE (respirators, suits, gloves).
- Minimum of High School Certificate or Technical Diploma in Automotive Refinishing or Paint Technology is required.
