Senior Auditor role available with a public service body in Dublin City Centre.

Ideal candidates will have managerial exposure in a senior auditor capacity. You will be a fully qualified accountant with practice experience.

The Senior Auditor will be responsible for the management of a portfolio of financial audits or examinations. You will manage a professional team and will be the liaison of your team, managing queries and running audits.

This permanent role is a fantastic opportunity with a quality work-life balance and 30 days annual leave.

Responsibilities may include:
* Applying audit and reporting policies, strategies and standards effectively
* Managing team members and reviewing their work to ensure that it has been carried out efficiently and effectively in line with approved methodologies and that all key issues have been identified and dealt with appropriately
* Reporting the results of audits and examinations to senior management
* Making recommendations to senior management about matters involving complex professional judgements
* Representing the team in its dealings with audited bodies including attendance at audit committees of audited bodies
* Briefing all peoples involved and committees as required
* Delivering the annual business plan for the team

Candidates should have the following experience/skills:
* You must have a professional accountancy qualification
* You must have significant recent relevant experience at an appropriate senior level in financial auditing or in programme evaluation
* You must have strong team building and interpersonal skills to motivate, support and direct professional staff and to build strong working relationships with staff and management in audited bodies
* You must have a high level of oral and written communication skills, including an ability to summarise complex technical issues in a cogent and concise manner
* You must have strong project management skills and be able to effectively manage a portfolio of work, so that work is completed on time to the highest quality standards
* You must have the capacity to make sound judgements on technical issues and to recommend the necessary consequential action
* You must be capable of analysing complex business operations and evaluating performance of organisations
* You should be familiar with the workings of the Irish Government, of parliamentary financial procedures and principles of government accounting
* You should have an understanding of commercial accounting and audit procedures as they relate to the State sector
* You should have an understanding of performance evaluation in the public sector.
