Position: Hotel General Manager – Co. Galway – up to €65k

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced General Manager a 4* Hotel in Co. Galway. The ideal candidate will have 5 – 7 years previous experience in a similar role and will need to put a strong emphasis on customer service and guest interaction. You will engage, inspire and lead your teams and empower them to provide exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have continuous focus on exceeding key business objectives and financial targets

Duties:

  • Oversee the effective management and performance of the hotel and departments including Front Office, Revenue & Reservations, Food & Beverage, Conference & Banqueting, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Spa and Leisure.
  • Ensure strong utilisation, ensuring strategies for maximum revenue generation and business profit.
  • Develop sales, marketing, revenue and team action plans specific to the hotel.
  • The ability to use interpersonal skills to reduce tension or conflict between team members and/or guests to ensure an acceptable outcome is reached.
  • Ensure security procedures for stores, cash, premises, team members, equipment and chemicals is implemented and maintained in accordance with TFE policies and procedures
  • Prepare and submit the Hotel budget ensuring it is achievable and meets the expected GOP targets.
  • Develop relationships with local tourism or chamber of commerce to build networks and business opportunities.
  • Plan and present a Monthly Meeting to the entire team, ensuring the meeting is engaging and enhances the teams involvement in operating the business to its maximum performance.
  • Recognise team members on a regular basis – good performance, initiative, innovation, attention to detail and team milestones etc.
  • Candidate:

  • A Degree or Diploma in Hotel or Hospitality Management or Business.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role.
  • Proven understanding of market trends, market segments and market mix within hotel’s location.
  • Prioritising and addressing workplace health & safety issues.
  • Remains current with industry and customer trends.
  • Anticipates changes in customer needs and expectations in order to continually improve the customer experience.

    Salary: up to €65k
