Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical/Mechanical Technician II to join our team. In this developing role, the technician performs assembly, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems with increased independence. This position supports more complex builds and contributes to process improvements while assisting in leading limited machine builds and debug activities with guidance.
Essential Duties & Resposibilities- Perform mechanical and electrical assembly, installation, and testing with moderate supervision
- Follow and apply established procedures, SOPs, and machine standards
- Assist in leading assigned machinery builds and debug activities with guidance
- Assemble machines, conveyors, and packaging equipment in proper sequence
- Fit and align machine components including shafts, bushings, frames, and fasteners
- Inspect parts and assemblies for accuracy and quality
- Perform electrical panel assembly, wiring, and routing of cables
- Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics
- Read PLC and servo programs and make basic changes with engineering support
- Support troubleshooting and contribute to root cause identification
- Test and debug systems to ensure performance meets specifications
- Operate machinery during startup and assist in resolving issues
- Recommend part design improvements based on assembly observations
- Adapt to changing workflow and task requirements
- Demonstrate working knowledge of SOPs and machine standards
- Assist in developing and maintaining basic technical documentation
- Mark up prints and communicate discrepancies
- Support customer interactions and assist with equipment setup and training
- Participate in field service primarily in a support role
- Travel as required to support installations and service
- Solid mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
- Basic PLC and servo program reading capability
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Developing customer interaction skills
- Experience in manufacturing or automation environments
- Exposure to beverage or consumer product machinery
- Technical school or vocational training
- Experience supporting machine builds and debug
- Ability to travel up to 25% primarily in a support capacity
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Provide your own hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc. and tool box)
