|Company / Business Name:||MackGraphe/Mackenzie Presbyterial University|
MackGraphe is the Graphene and Nanomaterials Research Center at Mackenzie Presbyterian University. We initiated our activities in 2013 with a start-up fund of approximately US$ 20,000,000.00, including the construction of a new building (opened on March 2nd, 2016 with the presence of Prof. Sir Andre Geim, Nobel prize in Physics in 2010) with 7 floors plus two underground floors and a class 1000 clean room with an approximate area of 200 m2. MackGraphe is a "brother” center of the Centre for Advanced 2D Materials (CA2DM), at the National University of Singapore, working in a complementary manner.
In order to carry out research capable of making an impact outside the lab, MackGraphe aims to master processes in all stages of technology development, from the modeling of nanomaterials to their application, through synthesis, characterization and integration with other elements. This is accomplished by means of an interdisciplinary team that includes Engineers, Physicists, and Chemists.
The mission of MackGraphe is to investigate properties of graphene and nanomaterials with an applied engineering thinking. We expect strong collaboration with industries to develop technologies that meet the society needs.
We are focused on seeking novelty in science and in technology innovation; recruiting the best and brightest students and researchers; and creating an environment to encourage long-term thinking.
