About the Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Environment & Sustainability Manager to support a major UK infrastructure project in Suffolk.

This is a leadership role responsible for environmental compliance, sustainability performance and regulatory engagement across a large-scale construction programme.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team of environmental professionals
Ensure compliance with environmental permits, licences and consents
Drive environmental and sustainability performance across site operations
Maintain ISO 14001 Environmental Management System requirements
Manage environmental inspections, audits and monitoring programmes
Lead environmental investigations and improvement initiatives
Work closely with project teams, contractors and regulators
Support delivery of environmental commitments and sustainability objectives

Requirements

Degree qualified in an Environmental discipline
Extensive experience leading Environment & Sustainability teams on major construction, infrastructure, energy, utilities or engineering projects
Strong knowledge of environmental permits, licences and regulatory compliance
Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 14001
Proven leadership and stakeholder management experience
Experience working within highly regulated environments

Desirable

Nuclear, energy, utilities, rail or major infrastructure experience
Client-side and principal contractor experience
Experience working with environmental regulators and public bodies
Sustainability programme leadership experience
