Nurse Practitioner - General Surgery; casual - Edina, MN

Job Overview

Fairview is seeking a Casual General Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join the General Surgery team at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. This is a casual position and will work on an as needed basis to help cover leave of absences on the core team. In this role, you will work closely with a well-established community General Surgery group and an experienced group of Advanced Practice Providers (APP), caring for patients with a diverse range of general, breast, surgical oncology, reflux, abdominal wall reconstruction, colon surgery and bariatric disorders.

• Surgical patient care for a wide variety of conditions such as breast, oncologic, colon, foregut, complex hernia, endocrine, and bariatric in addition to general surgery
• Inpatient care including:
  Admissions and consults, daily rounding, operative assist, and discharge planning and education
• Provide first assist in the operating room

• Casual (as needed) scheduling
• Daytime hours:
  Monday – Friday 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• Additional weekend shift opportunities available

• Graduate of a school of nursing and accredited Adult/Gero or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner training program
• BC/BE through the AANP or ANCC
• Licensed or ability to obtain APRN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
• Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
• Ability to obtain ATLS within 6 months of hire
• Experience in a Surgical practice is required

The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Positions with the same min/max are flat rate jobs based on 1.0 FTE. Compensation plans based on production can allow for higher pay than the range posted.
