Aboutthe Critical Care Float Pool at Southdale Hospital
- As a RN on our team, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in multiple units!
- You will float to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the Emergency Department (ED).
- In aless frequent capacity - may float to Neuro, Cardiac Telemetry, Surgical, and IMC units.
- There may be additional opportunity to cross train more areas if needs dictate, such as Post-Partum, EmPath, Endoscopy, etc.

This position will be working 0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the night shift (7pm– 7:30am). This position will also work a rotation for every 3rd weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). The RN role offers an additional $2.00/hour for being in the Float Pool.

Asan ICU RN, you will be responsible for:
- Assessing patient needs and identifying expected nursing outcomes;
- Developing an individualized nursing plan of care;
- Implementing interventions as needed during treatment based on the plan of care;
- Evaluating care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes;
- Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes;
- Coordinating care with members of the health care team and delegating responsibilities to others as appropriate;
- Demonstrating the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes;
- Promoting a culture of evidence-based practice (EBP) by participating in a multitude of available opportunities; and
- Performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.
- Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
- Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care
- Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs.
- Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes.
- Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care
- Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
- Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP)
- One year current Critical Care Experience (ICU)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- 1 year experience
