Scope of Job
  • General classroom management, assist instructor with both online and traditional face‑to‑face classes.
  • Attend sessions, fulfill assignments made by instructor.
  • Meet regularly with instructor and provide office hours for students.
  • Maintain attendance records, grade assignments and exams.
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned by instructor.
  • Willing to work at either campus based on department needs.
Qualification Requirements
  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher appropriate to the area of service.
  • Be registered full‑time for the respective semester (9 credit hours in fall and spring; 3 in summer).
  • Submit a letter of intent, resume, and a list of three references.
  • Ability to work well with diverse groups.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with prospective students.
  • Superior writing and editing skills.
  • Reliable for work at Edinburg or Brownsville campus to support traditional face‑to‑face classes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Full‑time graduate student with GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Undergraduate history minor.
  • MA in History or MAIS in History (priority).
