Salary: £71,820 (pro-rata for part‑time)
Hours: 30 per week
About the RoleWe are looking for a Depute Head Teacher to work with the Primary School (P1 and P2) and our nursery St Leonard’s. You will lead the Early Years, promote health and wellbeing and be committed to raising attainment. As a skilled practitioner, you will transfer high standards and pedagogical knowledge to colleagues, enhancing teaching quality.
Responsibilities- Provide strong leadership, directing, motivating and supporting staff.
- Lead and involve stakeholders in whole school improvement.
- Be nurturing, compassionate and invest in children, families and staff.
- Apply the UNCRC and GIRFEC, and support capacity building and partnership working to raise attainment.
- Demonstrate effective communication and align with GTC Standards and the City of Edinburgh Council behaviours of Respect, Integrity and Flexibility.
- Strong leadership experience and ability to motivate and support others.
- Experience in leading and involving stakeholders in whole school improvement.
- Commitment to health and wellbeing, and promoting attainment in early years.
- Knowledge of pedagogy and the ability to transfer high standards to colleagues.
- Commitment to the UNCRC, GIRFEC, and evidence of communication skills aligned with GTC Standards.
- This post is regulated work with children and protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
- The preferred candidate must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
- Individuals with a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years must provide an Overseas Criminal Record Check.
- Employment will be conditional on satisfactory outcomes of these checks.
