Conti Civil LLC is a fourth-generation, privately owned construction leader specializing in infrastructure projects. Built on a 120-year foundation of honesty and integrity, we’re a highly respected civil contractor for clients nationwide.

Director of Safety – based in New Jersey; travel to North Carolina every 6 weeks (additional travel as required to project sites). We’re looking for a safety leader who will manage the overall safety program, champion a strong safety culture, and continuously improve safety policies, practices, and training.

• Oversee the Company’s safety program and ensure projects comply with OSHA, DOT, and all other safety laws and standards.
• Continuously review and update safety policies and practices based on new regulations, industry best practices, technological advances, and lessons learned.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of safety professionals, ensuring consistency, accountability, and professional growth.
• Analyze trends, perform research and implement tools, systems, and technologies that enhance, automate, and improve safety management processes.
• Organize, manage, and deliver safety training for employees at all levels, including hazard recognition, equipment safety, traffic control, excavation safety, and emergency response.

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive safety leadership experience in heavy civil construction (road, bridge, and utility work).
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, DOT standards, environmental compliance, and civil construction safety requirements.
• Professional safety certifications (CSP, CHST, OHST, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing safety teams and programs across multiple sites.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in safety management systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel to company projects and offices, including routine travel to North Carolina every 6 weeks.
