The University of Alberta is seeking full-time lecturers for its North Campus in Edmonton. Starting September 1, 2026, these roles involve teaching up to six courses in an 8-month term or eight courses in a 12-month term. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Sociology or a related field and demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach six courses in Sociology over an 8-month term
• Conduct eight courses over a 12-month term as needed
• Emphasize methods, criminology, and social theory
• Actively engage with undergraduate students
• Promote a diverse and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements:
• Ph.D. in Sociology or related discipline preferred
• Proven excellence in undergraduate teaching
