Tenure Track Faculty Position - Assistant Professor in Exercise Intervention and Chronic Disease Management
Full‑time position, anticipated start date January 1, 2027.

The successful candidate will be offered a tenure‑track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, including a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

Develop an innovative and robust externally‑funded research program involving exercise interventions in human populations experiencing chronic disease, such as psychological, neurological, cardiovascular, and metabolic conditions.

Teach graduate and undergraduate courses.

Contribute to a new undergraduate kinesiology concentration that prepares students to engage in exercise programming with clinical populations.

Supervise graduate and undergraduate students.

Provide service to the Faculty, the University, and professional and external communities.

Maintain teaching capacity and a research program that extends and complements current faculty expertise and serves instructional needs in the Faculty.

Qualifications

Hold a Ph.D. in Kinesiology, or a related field relevant to exercise interventions and chronic disease management at the start date of the appointment.

Experience communicating research results, including peer‑reviewed journal publications and conference presentations.

Ability to extend and compliment existing faculty research regarding chronic disease management and exercise.

Potential to secure external funding to support their research program.

Ability to fill instructional needs related to exercise prescription in healthy and clinical populations.

Ability to effectively engage students in curriculum and research on exercise and chronic disease management.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to engage in impactful service related to institutional operations, research, teaching, and/or access, community, and belonging.
