Job Overview Are you a skilled, hands‑on parts professional with mining gear expertise? AMS is seeking a Journeyman Parts Technician to drive efficiency and accuracy in parts sourcing, inventory, and order processing, while delivering exceptional customer service. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external customers, manage inventory and orders, and ensure accurate, timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the Parts Operations Manager to maximize efficiency and accuracy in parts handling
Drive inbound/outbound prospecting and customer engagement to support service delivery
Qualify and route opportunities to the appropriate team member for development and closure
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product lines, specifications, and alternatives
Issue purchase orders to external suppliers; manage weekly stock orders
Enter quotations, generate order confirmations, and finalize customer sales orders
Deliver exceptional customer service; provide practical solutions and product recommendations
Maintain accurate inventory aligned with customer history; locate parts in the ERP/system
Research accounts, identify key decision-makers, and generate interest
Review catalogue descriptions to match customer needs; propose alternatives when items are out of stock
Confirm selections with customers to ensure order accuracy
Prepare documentation and inventory for audits; handle shipper/receiver duties
Assist with physical inventory counts; support other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED (preferred)
Journeyman certification or equivalent hands‑on experience
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Basic computer proficiency; experience with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong customer service, communication, and problem‑solving skills
Preferred Qualifications Experience in mining/industrial parts sales or inventory management
Knowledge of ERP/inventory management systems
Familiarity with cataloging, product specs, and supplier management
Working Conditions 40 hours/week (Monday–Friday); schedule may adapt to business needs
On‑site role with adherence to client Safety, Drug, and Alcohol policies
