As a Wildland Sensor Technician, you will work under the City of Edmonton's Parks and Roads Services to implement a sophisticated monitoring grid essential for public safety. Your responsibilities will include site validation for equipment installation and managing both fixed and mobile ecological monitoring elements. You’ll play a central role in the implementation of this transformative 2026 initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage monitoring networks from deployment to integration
• Conduct comprehensive site surveys for sensor installations
• Collaborate with team members on field monitoring methodologies
• Execute technical management for wildlife data collection
• Prepare training materials and maintenance procedures
Requirements:
• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Sciences, or similar
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in environmental monitoring
• Skilled in remote sensing technology
• Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license
• Strong documentation and communication abilities
