Senior Production Manager – Key Responsibilities
- Directly supervise and mentor Harvest Manager, Packaging Manager, Manufacturing Manager, QC Manager, and their respective teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and drive continuous improvement within the production teams.
- Develop and implement strategic training programs to enhance team skills and performance in alignment with production goals.
- Oversee all production phases from harvest through to finished goods processing, ensuring high-quality standards and operational efficiency.
- Ensure timely and compliant execution of all production and packaging tasks, maintaining adherence to state regulations and company SOPs.
- Review and adjust labor production schedules based on departmental needs, production goals, and resource availability; report KPI metrics and adjust efficiencies as needed.
- Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures to produce premium cannabis products consistently.
- Conduct thorough audits of batch records and inventory data to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead efforts to streamline production processes, enhance productivity, and reduce waste.
- Oversee the implementation of new technologies or methods to improve production efficiency and product quality.
- Prepare and review inventory and production reports to track progress toward monthly, quarterly, and annual budget goals.
- Ensure accurate and real‑time updates to seed‑to‑sale systems and other tracking tools, including Dutchie and METRC inventory.
- Collaborate with the National Director‑Production to set and review production targets, develop strategic plans, and address operational challenges.
- Drive initiatives that align with long‑term company goals, enhancing both operational performance and employee engagement.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent – Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Production Management, or a related field – Preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in processing and cultivation
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role
- Proven experience in managing teams, optimizing production processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Strong leadership and team development skills with a track record of driving performance and fostering a positive work environment
- In‑depth knowledge of cannabis production processes, quality control, and regulatory compliance
- Excellent organizational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational demands
- Proficiency in production management software, seed‑to‑sale systems, and other relevant tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Proficiency with inventory systems and office equipment
- Knowledge of plant tracking software, both PATC‑approved and state‑mandated
- Proficiency in production management software, seed‑to‑sale systems, and other relevant tools
- 40‑hour work weeks:
Monday – Friday minimum requirement with additional days/hours as required - Manufacturing environment that requires extended time standing, walking, bending, and reaching; ability to carry up to 50 lbs for up to a distance of 100 ft may be required; occasional extended and repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects; ability to work in a humid and pollinated environment
