PositionSummary
The Technician I (Production, Assembly, QV Solar Panels) is responsible for performing assembly and production tasks in support of satellite system manufacturing. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow standardized work instructions, and a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
Work ScheduleFri, Sat, Sun – 6:00 am – 6:00 pm (3 x12 schedule)
Compensation$24.00 – $27.60 per hour – DOE. Eligible for overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Responsibilities Production & Assembly- Assemble satellite subcomponents and production parts in accordance with work instructions and engineering specifications.
- Sort, stage, and organize materials on tables, racks, or bins.
- Use hand tools, fixtures, and measuring/test equipment to complete assembly tasks.
- Clean, package, and prepare completed assemblies for storage or shipment.
- Pack, seal, label, and move materials and finished goods as required.
- Handle small parts and components requiring manual dexterity.
- Follow standardized procedures to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Inspect own work and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Meet established productivity and production targets.
- Report defects, discrepancies, or process issues to supervision.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Comply with applicable safety standards under the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow instructions and respond appropriately to supervisory direction.
- Communicate effectively with team members and support cross‑functional operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks with attention to detail.
- Ability to meet production and quality expectations.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production environments.
- Familiarity with hand tools, measuring devices, and basic mechanical processes.
- Experience working in aerospace or high‑precision manufacturing settings.
- Attention to detail and quality focus.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Time management and reliability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a production environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for fine manipulation of parts.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as needed.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to communicate effectively (talk/hear) in a production environment.
- Manufacturing/production environment.
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Exposure to dust, fumes, or airborne particles may occur.
- Use of required PPE at all times.
