SummaryThis position is a federally contracted detention officer position under Immigration and Customs Enforcement. It is located at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service Processing Center in El Paso, Texas. - Perform all duties as directed in accordance with PBNDS/ACA and ICE facility policy standards.
- Follow and abide by company policies and directives.
- Respond to emergency situations such as fires, facility disturbances, riots, etc.
- Prevent and detect contraband.
- Prevent and detect escape attempts.
- Observe, prevent, and report all instances of disorder or non-compliance as directed by ICE and GPS policies and procedures.

Required (Minimum) Qualifications- U.S. Citizen or LPR
- Not currently employed by a federal agency or active duty military
- HS Graduate or GED
- 21 years of age or older
- Ability to obtain a state security license (non-commission/commission)
- 1 year detention/Security experience (prison, detention center, etc.)
- Pass government background checks
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Ability to speak, write, and comprehend a second language (Spanish or any language)
- Valid state security license (non-commission level 2/commission level
3)
Skills and Abilities
- Physically capable of responding to emergencies such as running with a fire extinguisher.
- Capable of understanding and applying written and verbal orders, rules, and regulations.
- English literacy and ability to write reports in English.
- Meet physical/health requirements for duties.
- Ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
The physical demands of this role are representative of the activities necessary to successfully perform the essential functions.
- Maintain physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing, and complex movements for prolonged periods.
- Perform pat‑down searches and physically search structures for contraband.
- Respond to emergency situations such as fires, running for prolonged distances with a fire extinguisher.
- Respond to physical disturbances that are violent in nature and assist in quelling altercations, defending against assault.
- Exposure to extreme climate temperatures and conditions.
- Exposure to sun and other climate conditions, including standing up and/or walking for more than 8 hours.
- Sitting at a desk and periodically walking to conduct security checks.
- Utilizing computers in offices or buildings.
- Confined to office space for more than 8 hours.
$27.15 hourly, $4.51 Health and Welfare, Shift Differential Pay, and $115 Annual Boot Allowance.
