Low-Voltage Systems Technician & Installations Expert

What You'll Do

• Set up and configure low‑voltage systems such as security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, and network cabling.
• Run, terminate, and label cables according to project requirements and industry standards.
• Perform regular maintenance checks to ensure system functionality and reliability.
• Identify and resolve issues in low‑voltage systems promptly to minimize downtime.
• Repair faults or damages, restoring systems to optimal working condition.
• Provide technical support and train end users on operating and maintaining low‑voltage systems.
• Address customer inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently.
• Ensure all installations and repairs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and meet safety guidelines.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Generate reports on system performance, issues resolved, and maintenance activities.
• Evaluate existing systems to determine upgrades or enhancements and perform system upgrades to improve performance or comply with new standards.
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project completion.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

• Must hold the required state and jurisdiction certification and license for the work location. Recipical license may apply.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Experience in a role requiring knowledge of local electrical codes and standards.

• BICSI Installer Certification, CompTIA networking certifications (e.g., Network+).
• Manufacturer‑specific certifications such as Honeywell, Axis, or Bosch systems.
• NICET 1 & 2 Fire Alarm certification.
• OSHA 10 or 30‑hour certification/training.
• Technical training or certification in low‑voltage systems.
