Project Administrator

Base Pay

• $75,000.00 - $ / Year

Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Project Administrator for our Water business unit. This position requires 6+ years of experience.

• Support project execution by managing tasks independently while collaborating closely with the Project Managers through all phases of a project including contract development, project setup using VantagePoint/Deltek software, budget tracking, invoicing and other project tasks.
• Review shop drawings for conformance with contract drawings and specifications
• Review field inspection reports and notes; prepare monthly pay estimates.
• Coordinate project paperwork and scheduling with contractors.
• Prepare EPA construction permit applications.
• Administer operating permits through the EPA in a timely manner.
• Track project budgets during the construction phase, including engineering, legal, construction, and administrative costs.
• Prepare and submit payment requests to state and federal funding agencies.
• Review design drawings and specifications for constructability.
• Coordinate with field inspection staff to troubleshoot issues arising in the field
• Effectively communicate with Project Managers regarding contract documents, change orders, and other contract modifications
• Review as-built drawings at project closeout to ensure accuracy.
• Assist clients with IEPA NPDES operating permits for water and sewer facilities as needed.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Critical thinking and analysis
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must complete a background check

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business-related field (preferred)

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. offers a comprehensive total rewards package and is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation. The target salary range for this position is $75,000 to $105,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location.
