Job Summary
Under the direction of the Elmhurst Service Group Leader, the Material Handler is an entry‑level training position that will ultimately be assigned to a work cell at the Service Center to support the Cell Lead Operator in processing Customer Orders efficiently and on time.
Responsibilities- Receive training as a material handler and follow direction of the trainer.
- Provide feedback to the trainer to assess competency level.
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and facility procedures.
- Process orders efficiently and maintain productivity.
- Operate equipment to uphold high quality standards.
- Participate in equipment maintenance duties as required.
- Continuously inspect finished product for conformance to customer and Materion standards.
- Take appropriate action to prevent the escape of non‑conforming material.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
- Assist the machine operator in the orderly and efficient flow of material in a slitting work center.
- Pull stock from inventory and load material onto payoff equipment.
- Unload finished cuts and sidecuts, fill out order documentation, and return remnant material to inventory.
- Participate in team activities as required.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft products is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, able to initiate action without direction.
- Ability to multi‑task and prioritize required tasks.
$21.18 – $23.57 per hour. Actual base salary offered varies based on relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
