Position: PAC (Power, Automation & Controls) Technician

Overview

The PAC (Power, Automation & Controls) Technician will be a technical SME tasked with inventory movement and maintenance, data management, statistical analysis of equipment performance, robotic troubleshooting, PLC program troubleshooting, component programming, instrumentation troubleshooting, and assisting operations with systemic moves within the Distribution Warehouse. The environment is primarily in a control room, but team members will be trained to assist in hands-on situations.

Interfacing with the Warehouse Execution System (WES) and Warehouse Control System (WCS) is mission critical for day-to-day operations. This individual will join the Chick-fil-A Supply LLC family with the goal of providing caring, consistent, and reliable service through its distribution networks to support Chick-fil-A restaurants and their communities.

Responsibilities
  • Strong technical background to troubleshoot and eliminate tough problems and implement new solutions.
  • Manage and coordinate warehouse system events through WMS or WES.
  • Execute and run weekly to monthly reports on equipment performance and deliver to the Power Automation and Controls Engineering Manager.
  • Handle level 1 events and outages with WMS or WES and escalate as needed.
  • Handle level 1 to 2 events and outages with robotic equipment, PLC controls, HMI visualization, instrumentation failures/replacements, and motion drive equipment failures/replacements (drives, motors, gearboxes, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot PLC applications in ladder logic, function block, or structured text.
  • Troubleshoot visualization screens (HMIs) in FTView Studio, Ignition, etc.
  • Work in environments requiring Arc Flash PPE for low voltage environments (environments will never exceed 480

    VAC 3‑phase).
  • Move compliant and non-compliant product in a systematic and controlled fashion.
  • Primary point of contact for Warehouse Inventory for Cold Storage operations, including cycle counts, recalls, inventory reconciliation, etc.
  • Coordinate disaster recovery processes with the operations team.
  • Clean inspection and lubrication, autonomous maintenance tasks, and preventative maintenance of automation equipment.
  • Develop and drive root cause analyses in a systematic and structured form.
Customer Relations
  • Capable of working with a diverse team to reduce losses and improve performance. Cross-disciplinary team includes Industrial Engineers, Operations Managers, Operator Techs, Maintenance Techs, Food Safety and Environmental Health & Safety.
  • Understand who the customers are and prioritize service to others.
  • Value both relationships and results.
