Job Overview

Mechanical Engineer in Systems Engineering team.

Location:

Elyria, OH, USA.

• Become intimately familiar with Automated, Semi-Automated and Manual Nelson Stud Welding systems and recommend cost effective improvements.
• Design, develop and update mechanical systems used in company products and equipment for new applications, system improvements, and cost savings.
• Participate in new or existing product launches via FMEA, DVP&R, 8D Methodology.
• Utilize DFMEA to capture lessons learned and drive product improvement activities.
• Provide expert assistance to Nelson manufacturing and repair personnel for trouble‑shooting malfunctions in components and systems.
• Contact with mechanical tooling components sources for verification of test and performance requirements; assist purchasing and quality control with technical questions.
• Coordinate the specification and build of complete systems to meet customer requirements.
• Provide technical assistance in mechanical matters to internal and external customers as required.
• Utilize Finite Element Analysis & Computational Fluid Dynamics to mathematically model systems as required.
• Assist other areas as directed and perform all other duties as assigned.
• Able to travel 10% or less on a global scale.

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2+ years of related on‑the‑job experience in detailed mechanical design, development, or applications development preferred.
• Understanding of mechanical engineering theory and general drafting skills.
• Knowledge of engineering practices of electrical and mechanical systems.
• 2+ years of AutoCAD and NX experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor is a nice to have.
• 2+ years of Unigraphics (UG) design experience preferred.
• Experience with PDM (PTC/Wind Chill) systems at user level preferred.

The salary range for this position is $72,000.00 – $. The salary offered within the range may vary depending on factors such as job level, geographic location, knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and local wage requirements.
