Summary: The maintenance worker portion of this position is responsible for maintenance, repair, and replacement work for CRC buildings and CRC job sites, offices, transitional housing units, thrift stores, and shelter. The Maintenance worker will be required to do light trouble-shooting tasks for HVAC, electricity, plumbing and occasional janitorial. This position requires approximately 20 hours a week. In addition the Maintenance/Delivery Driver will be assisting the lead driver mornings from approximately 8-12 with Fresh Rescue duties to entail picking up donations from local stores and delivering back to the Food and Nutrition Center. Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons driver will assist with Store Rotations, and going to our warehouse to retrieve items to restock Food and Nutrition Center as needed. Will also assist with taking old furniture and items to dump approximately once a month.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
· Performs minor repair for all buildings and equipment;
· Performs preventative maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis;
· Assembles furniture;
· Completes checklists on building equipment maintenance and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures;
· Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required;
· Assists in the renovation/remodeling of buildings, repair plaster and drywall;
· Minimal driving as needed;
· Assisting in Fresh Rescue Program and Store Rotations as needed.
· Other duties as assigned.
Two years of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair;
High school diploma/GED preferred; Knowledge of electrical, gas, water, and sewer systems; Knowledge of water delivery and drainage systems as well as plumbing replacement and repair; Good safety skills in the use of hand and power tools; Ability to read and understand instruction manuals, blue prints, and computer information.
Two years of responsible driving experience and a clean driving record.
Frequent standing and walking; climbing or balancing; stooping; reaching with hands and arms;
Kneeling; crouching or crawling; talking, hearing and speaking clearly; lifting up to approximately 50lbs; both indoor and outdoor work. Ability to drive a 20ft. box truck.
