The Role
Amphenol Military High Speed is seeking a Design Engineer to work out of its
new facility in Endicott, NY.
The key responsibilities of this Design Engineer include, but are not limited
to:
Prepares designs and specifications, assists in generation of layouts
Prepares and checks drawing and processes changes as required for production
and customers
Assure form, fit, and function of components through dimensional studies,
and correlates engineering data to customer specifications
Interfaces with other departments for the manufacturing and testing of
samples
Interfaces with customers and vendors to assure conformance to customer
specifications
Coordinates the manufacturing of customer prototypes
Performs the functions required to process estimate requests and marketing
product requests
Performs engineering investigations of manufacturing/quality problems
Reviews customer documents for compliance with AMHS documents and if
necessary, prepares new designs to conform to these documents
Works closely with the Business Development Managers and Product Managers of
various business units
Regularly and proactively communicates with customers, Marketing,
Manufacturing, Quality, Process, Purchasing, and experimental personnel

Salary: $62,354 - $85,000
The Person
The key skills and qualities of a Design Engineer at Amphenol Military High
Speed:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
Experience in design or design engineering
Experience with AutoCAD and/or Creo is preferred
Ability to work from written and oral instruction, with minimum supervision
Possesses a working knowledge of PTC Creo and Windchill
Ability to work collaboratively with others on the Design Engineer team to
accomplish required tasks to support the interests of the business
Ability to maintain a dedicated focus on intricate details of engineering
designs
Willingness to contribute extra effort in support of critical business
opportunities
Proactive periodic communication to manager regarding status of activities
Willing to travel (15 to 20%)
Prolonged periods of sitting and computer usage
