Overview

The Commercial Operations Analyst will be reporting to the Vice President of Carrier; supporting the Carrier Voice business unit to optimize profitability and support operations. This position will negotiate and manage day-to-day costs across multiple voice product lines (US domestic long distance and US Domestic short duration), vendor relationships and capacity management with all voice carriers. Also develop tools and systems to perform audits to ensure optimization of cost and profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Review large cost impacts and communicate to business as needed. Review weekly and monthly statistics of all customers and vendors for performance issues and financial issues.
  • Work with internal teams to manage capacity requirements for all voice customers and carriers and all voice products, including engaging vendors when needed to initiate new services, augment existing services, and disconnect services no longer needed.
  • Instruct and lead the operations team on large projects, including new vendor implementation, vendor decommissions, augments, trouble tickets, new product builds and performance issues.
  • Provide accurate, timely, and complete assessment of significant swings in traffic.
  • Help negotiate with vendors on new rates that will drive down costs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements that will result in demonstrated increases in production quality, efficiency, or quantity.
  • Act as liaison between internal departments and our vendors for miscellaneous BAU issues (billing issues, vendor trouble tickets, etc).
  • Aid in the collection of competitive intelligence through carrier touch points and competitor price lists to support decision making.
  • Continuous development and refinement of models to provide insight to the business and competitive pricing for clients.
  • Develop and deliver management reports on a regular basis.
  • Develop dashboard/scorecards - financial and operational Reporting.
  • Focus on identified cost savings initiatives.
  • Perform other job-related functions and ad-hoc projects.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with all team members.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity, juggle many tasks at once and quickly shift from one situation or task to another.
Required Knowledge and Experience
  • Minimum 8+ years of working telecommunications, specifically voice
  • Extensive relationship contact list
  • Extensive experience with the carrier voice product and customer/vendor management
  • Good understanding of telephone/data networks and interconnection architectures
  • Familiar with working with RBOCs, LECs, CLECs, and various internal teams to obtain rates, tariffs, need information across multiple departments
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience interacting with all levels of management
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
