Position Overview

In this role you will be responsible for assigning and assisting in the daily maintenance and repair of all mobile equipment. You will supervise all mechanics, preventative maintenance personnel, and maintain the repair facility. The position offers training and career growth for those who enjoy hands‑on work, problem solving, and improvement of processes.

Wage

$30/hr-$35/hr DOE with potential for overtime.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Provide proactive leadership that promotes a safety culture.
  • Lead and participate in daily pre-shift meetings.
  • Ensure PPE adherence in shop and field.
  • Promote 5S principles.
  • Conduct routine inspections and certification of equipment.
  • Direct and schedule R&M services efficiently.
  • Utilize CMMS for work order requests and preventive maintenance.
  • Prioritize repairs based on asset criticality, cost, and timing.
  • Assign tasks based on mechanic skill and repair difficulty.
  • Review and approve mechanic staff time using Infield.
  • Approve coding and cost of PO requests for parts, supplies, and services.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Operations staff.
  • Provide updates on down assets and repair schedules.
  • Maintain regular and timely attendance.
  • Promote an inclusive work environment.
  • Communicate flaws in material promptly to supervisors.
  • Avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Diesel mechanic experience required.
  • Proficiency with Windows, Excel, Word, Cat‑ET, Cummins Insite, and Detroit programs.
  • Current driver’s license required.
  • Good performance, safety, and attendance record.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematics.
  • Effective communication with all departments and customers on the phone and in person.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
