It supplies total solutions for a wide range of applications in the Clean Energy and Industrial Gas industries, with many critical and proprietary cryogenic products designed and manufactured within Nikkiso Cryogenic Industries facilities. It also leverages established relationships with key partners to supplement its in‑house capabilities.
Aboutthe Role
This position is in Escondido, CA, and is an in‑office, five‑days‑per‑week role.
Summary / ObjectiveThe Application Engineering role will generate technical proposals and manage in‑house sales support for the growing fueling and solutions market in North America. It requires a strong technical background to develop tailor‑made solutions using the ICS standard.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities- Work with departments to ensure proposals submitted meet Solutions requirements for delivery, documentation, testing, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with sales personnel to provide customers with required information.
- Communicate with customers to answer technical questions and respond to bid clarifications.
- Ensure on‑time performance of proposal submissions.
- Support marketing activities.
- Perform quoting work as required.
- Travel internationally and domestically to support customer meetings as required.
- English language proficiency is required.
- Experience with customer‑relation‑management (CRM) software;
Sales Force preferred. - Advanced MS Office Suite skills.
- Ability to review proposals for compliance with technical specifications and pricing accuracy for engineered‑to‑order products.
- Strong time‑management skills, ability to prioritize and manage changing priorities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience is required.
- At least 3 years in application or sales engineering, preferably in a plant manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Autodesk, Solid Works or similar software is preferred.
- Specific industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Position may require up to 10% travel.
Overtime may be necessary as workload dictates, including weekdays, weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
Work Environmental and Physical DemandsThe job will generally be performed in an office environment but may require travel to a client’s office, production facility, or industrial/construction job site. The employee must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a passport. Physical tasks may include standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping or kneeling, talking and hearing, and using fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs may be required.
All new employees receive Safety Awareness training and other required safety training modules. Employees must wear Nikkiso‑provided PPE as needed, including safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut‑resistant gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and dust masks. Failure to comply with Nikkiso Cryo safety requirements will result in disciplinary actions, up to and including termination.
