• Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
• Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team.
• Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care.
• Admin sisters medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy.
• Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care.
• Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
• Completes patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
• Schedule:
  
  1.0 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) working 8- or 10-hour shifts starting at 6:30 AM. Weekends and on-call shifts may be required.

  Skills & Experience:
  
  Minimum of two (2) years current experience in a large OR; ability to scrub; team player; flexible; accustomed to a fast-paced environment; successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment.
• Preferred

  Epic electronic health record experience preferred but not required; can train on-site; orthopedics, ENT, and/or vascular experience a plus.
• Certifications & Licensure:
  Valid nursing license in the State of New Mexico or a Compact State; BLS certification required; additional certifications such as ACLS and PALS preferred.
