Tenure‑track faculty with a primary focus on glia and/or neurovascular coupling research relevant to human health or disease. Candidates may work with model organisms or human subjects.
Teaching and mentoring responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses in physiology, as well as outreach to promote inclusive learning environments.
Responsibilities- Develop and conduct independent research on glia and/or neurovascular coupling, securing extramural funding.
- Publish in peer‑reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in physiology and related subjects.
- Advise and mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and undergraduates.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Institute of Neuroscience and other interdisciplinary centers on the campus.
- PhD in Physiology, Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, or a closely related field.
- At least 2 years postdoctoral research experience (or equivalent).
- For Assistant Professor: 2 first‑author peer‑reviewed publications.
- For Associate Professor: 2 last‑author peer‑reviewed publications and 6 years of independent research experience.
- Current extramural funding or a clear plan for sustained funding.
- Experience applying inclusive and varied pedagogical practices at the university level.
- Demonstrated interest in advancing underrepresented groups in science.
