ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSBusiness Planning & Account Leadership – Use digital tools and data‑based insights to create opportunities, develop strategy & tactics, allocate resources, monitor progress and adjust direction to maximize sales performance.
Selling – Deliver clear and compelling messages to customers, probe customer needs to handle objections, and close every call with a commitment to action that drives behavioral change.
Customer Development – Build and maintain productive internal and external relationships based on customer needs and organizational goals, incorporating “total office” account management where applicable.
Local Market & Therapeutic Area Expertise – Gather and validate key market trends, map account linkages, and apply comprehensive therapeutic knowledge to uncover and prioritize unique opportunities.
Reimbursement – Stay informed on reimbursement dynamics and effectively address payer access issues (IDNs, Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial) using Lundbeck resources.
Pharmaceutical Environment/Compliance – Apply knowledge of the pharmaceutical and regulatory environment, adhere to Lundbeck policies, procedures and FDA regulations regarding product promotion.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Sciences degree from an accredited college or university.
- 2–5 years of pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, biologics, medical device sales or related healthcare sales experience.
- High performance on disease and product training exams, including annual product knowledge certification.
- Self‑starter with strong work ethic, tenacity, and outstanding communication skills.
- Adaptability – embrace change and collaborate in a fast‑paced team environment.
- Problem‑solving – analytical skills to identify solutions and overcome obstacles.
- Data analysis – strong computer and technical skills for analyzing data to develop short‑ and long‑term goals aligned with business objectives.
- Must live within 40 miles of the territory boundaries.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing (driving is essential).
- Compliance with industry‑standard credentialing requirements of healthcare providers / customer facilities.
- Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move items up to 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Documented experience selling to general practitioners and primary care centers.
- Experience promoting and detailing CNS/neuroscience products.
- Experience working with alliance partners (e.g., co‑promotions).
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30–40% domestically to regularly meet customers and internal personnel and attend 4–8 conferences and meetings each year.
The salary range is $110,000 to $126,000, with eligibility for a sales incentive target of $40,500. Benefits include flexible paid time off (PTO), health benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision), company matching 401(k), and a company car.
