This role will contribute to the delivery and ongoing operation of research systems that support research activity across one of Australia’s leading universities.

The opportunity

As Research Operations Specialist, you will support and coordinate the delivery, operation and continuous improvement of research systems across the University.

With a primary focus on Sydney FMS, the University’s Research Facilities Management System, you will help ensure research platforms are operational, well supported, compliant and aligned with the needs of researchers and research facilities stakeholders.

What you’ll do Coordinate day-to-day operational management of research systems, supporting availability , performance and reliability.

Support system users, triage issues and coordinate escalations with technical teams and vendors.

Maintain system documentation, workflows, knowledge base content, user guides and support materials.

Support testing, release processes, enhancements and service improvement activity across research systems.

Monitor usage and system performance data, producing reporting and insights for research stakeholders.

What we’re looking for Proven experience coordinating and supporting research systems, SaaS applications or related technology services.

Strong technical understanding of research systems, operational workflows and research technology environments.

Experience troubleshooting issues, identifying systemic problems and coordinating effective resolution.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across researchers, facility managers, vendors and ICT teams.

Sound understanding of cyber security, risk compliance, identity and access management considerations in an ICT context.
