About the RoleThe Quality Inspector I plays a critical role in ensuring that manufacturing processes and products meet established quality standards and meet customer expectations. This position involves conducting detailed inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to identify defects or deviations from specifications. The Quality Inspector I collaborates closely with production teams to address quality issues promptly and supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and efficiency.
By maintaining accurate documentation and reporting findings, this role helps to uphold compliance with industry regulations and internal quality policies. Ultimately, the Quality Inspector I contributes to delivering high-quality products that reinforce the company’s reputation and customer satisfaction.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in quality inspection in manufacturing preferably in aerospace.
- Basic understanding of quality control principles and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and measurement tools.
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
- Effective communication skills to document and report inspection findings.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
- Previous experience in aerospace manufacturing.
- Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Certification in quality inspection or related fields (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector).
- Training or exposure to CMM operation
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of aerospace components, assemblies, and materials.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) (as trained).
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Verify compliance with industry standards (e.g., AS9100, FAA regulations).
- Identify and document non-conformances and assist in corrective action processes.
- Complete and maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
- Support incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
- Ensure adherence to quality control procedures and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized inspection area following safety guidelines.
- Communicate inspection findings clearly to supervisors and production staff.
- The required skills enable the Quality Inspector I to accurately assess product conformity by interpreting technical drawings and using precision measurement tools daily.
