Overview

The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) role is a development-focused program designed to prepare you for a CVS Store Manager position. Over a 16‑week, self‑paced, collaborative training, you will receive virtual and hands‑on learning experiences to develop your leadership skills with the support of a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.
Responsibilities- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to support and lead your team.
- Perform customer‑care duties to provide high levels of service.
- Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
- Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
- Actively engage with your leader in Key Learning Experiences to support your path to promotion.
- Support the store as a member of the management team and lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies.
- Engage colleagues in support of the company's purpose of helping people on their path to better health.
- Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market you work in.
- High School diploma or GED (required). A four‑year college degree is preferred, or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
- Retail management experience, or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
- Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager at any location in the designated market.
- Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores within the designated market.
- Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.
- Selection does not guarantee promotion; promotion depends on performance and availability of openings.
Anticipated weekly hours: 45. Full‑time position. Pay range: $18.50 – $30.64 per hour (or equivalent annual salary). The actual base salary will depend on experience, education, geography and other factors.
